Welcome
Blood is the fluid of life. Loss of blood from injury,
accidents and following surgical operations or child delivery
may lead to loss of life. These lives may be saved if blood
transfusion could be made in appropriate time and manner. Apart
from this, blood transfusion is indicated in many other medical
conditions. To meet the requirement of transfusion large
quantity of blood and a large number of donors are required in
our country. But blood is not available in sufficient quantity
because there is a shortage of voluntary donors. Mostly we are
to depend on professional blood donors who bleed themselves
periodically for money. In Bangladesh thousands of people are
saved because others have voluntarily donated their blood. On
the other hand, many times these members are leaving this
beautiful world because there are not enough donors. Since there
is no substitute for blood, not it can be manufactured in a
factory, one must donate it from one's own body so that a dying
patient may receive it and have a new life.
The conception of' the Sandhani was to start the voluntary blood
donation and to provide the people this precious gift-the safe
blood at the time of' their need. Sandhani for long twenty three
years has tried its level best to ensure that. Through out the
world people have generously given blood to save the life of
others. At the beginning of the new millennium, we should like
to ask people every where to safeguard their health by caring
for that precious and common life source: their blood. The need
for voluntary donor is a paramount requirement to provide the
strongest foundation for a safe and sustainable blood supply
round the clock, year in and year out.
